The Philippines has made a dazzling impression on the global stage by securing a top-three spot in the latest rankings of the world’s most beautiful countries. According to Wethrift, an online coupon platform, this ranking is based on the country’s outstanding performance in major international beauty pageants. Here’s an engaging look at how the Philippines achieved this remarkable feat, its track record in beauty competitions, and what this reveals about global beauty trends.

How the Rankings Were Determined

Wethrift's beauty score system offers a unique perspective on international pageant success. By assigning three points for each titleholder, two points for first runner-ups, and one point for second runner-ups, the platform quantifies a country’s achievements. With a beauty score of 79, the Philippines has shown impressive results through 16 titleholders, 12 first runner-ups, and seven second runner-ups. This method provides a comprehensive view of a nation’s performance and highlights consistent excellence across various global competitions.

The Philippines’ Beauty Pageant Triumphs

The Philippines’ impressive third-place ranking underscores its significant impact on the world of beauty pageants. The country boasts a roster of four Miss Universe winners—Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray. It also shines with six Miss International titles, four Miss Earth crowns, and one each from Miss World and Miss Grand International. These accolades reflect the Philippines’ deep-rooted culture of celebrating and excelling in pageantry, showcasing a tradition that consistently puts the nation in the spotlight.

Insights into Global Beauty Trends

Nick Drewe, a beauty and lifestyle trend expert and CEO at Wethrift, sheds light on the broader implications of these rankings. "International beauty pageants offer fascinating insights into how different countries approach and celebrate beauty. Venezuela, the USA, and the Philippines' consistent success in producing titleholders reflects their strong cultural emphasis on these competitions,” Drewe explains.
