The swamp has never looked this good—or this Filipino.

This October 31, Shrek The Musical makes its Philippine premiere at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City, featuring an all-Filipino lead cast that brings fresh energy, humor, and heart to the beloved Broadway hit. Presented by Newport World Resorts, the production is a celebration of world-class local talent taking on iconic roles with style and spirit.

Jamie Wilson Leads the Swamp Crew

The role of Shrek goes to none other than theater veteran Jamie Wilson. With over 40 years on stage and award-winning performances in productions like Matilda The Musical and Run For Your Wife, Wilson brings both depth and comic timing to the lovable ogre. Known for his strong presence and directorial work in concerts like Ely Buendia: A Night at the Theater, Wilson is set to lead the cast with both heart and humor.

Joining him is Krystal Kane as the feisty Princess Fiona. Kane started performing as a child in The Sound of Music and Aspects of Love, and later trained in New York before returning to Manila for standout roles in Spring Awakening and Tabing Ilog: The Musical. After a short hiatus to work behind the camera, Kane returns to the stage with renewed fire.

A Hilarious, Homegrown Ensemble

Topper Fabregas takes on the role of Donkey, bringing his signature comedic flair and emotional range. From Come From Away to Angels in America, Fabregas is no stranger to complex characters—and as Donkey, he’s bound to steal scenes once again.

Rounding out the main cast is Alfredo “Bibo” Reyes as Lord Farquaad. Trained at New York’s Atlantic Acting School, Reyes has appeared in acclaimed shows like In the Heights, Waitress, and The Band’s Visit, and brings both mischief and charisma to the pint-sized villain.

With music by Jeanine Tesori and a book by David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek The Musical promises a hilarious, high-energy ride—now made even more magical with a powerhouse Filipino cast.

Tickets are available via TicketWorld, HelixPay, and the Newport World Resorts Box Office.
