Iain Glen, a veteran of "Game of Thrones," has joined the cast of "Quezon," a historical biopic from TBA Studios.

Early in 2025, Iain and the cast and crew of "Quezon" read the script at The Manila Hotel.

In TBA Studios' "Bayaniverse," "Quezon" is the third installment. "Heneral Luna" (2015) and "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" (2018) came before it.

Who will he portray?

Glen will play Leonard Wood, the US Army major who was the governor-general of the Philippines from 1921 to 1927.

Glen is well known for his portrayal of the devoted Jorah Mormont in HBO's fantasy series.

Manuel Quezon's fight for the Philippines' independence from the United States was greatly aided by Wood.

"This film is shaping up to be one of the biggest productions in Philippine cinema, with one of the largest casts ever assembled. We are excited to share with Iain—and the rest of the world—the production scale and level of artistry that Filipino filmmakers are capable of," said TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu in a statement.

Life of Quezon

Quezon, a Filipino lawyer and soldier who served as President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944, is the subject of the movie.

In the movie, Jericho Rosales will portray Manuel L. Quezon, the late president of the Philippines. Benjamin Alves will portray a younger Quezon, and Mon Confiado will return to his role as Quezon's political opponent Emilio Aquinaldo.

The movie will be released this year.
