Dishes like adobo and sinigang have captured the hearts of food lovers worldwide, showcasing the Philippines’ love for well-seasoned, comforting meals. Now, Pinoy cuisine is stepping into the spotlight like never before.

“Authentic or Not” on Amazon Prime

This April, Authentic or Not, a new documentary on Amazon Prime, will explore the global rise of Pinoy food. Directed by Filipino filmmakers Chris and Hillary Soriano, the film dives into how Pinoy cuisine has evolved and adapted across borders. It highlights the stories of Filipino restaurants around the world, revealing how they’ve brought the flavors of the Philippines to diverse international culinary scenes.

One featured establishment is Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas. Known for serving authentic Pinoy dishes, Sari-Sari is excited to be part of this cultural journey. “We are thrilled to invite you to a private screening of Authentic or Not,” the restaurant shared on Instagram. The documentary uncovers how Pinoy food is winning hearts globally.

A Taste of Filipino Culture

Ahead of the film’s official release, Sari-Sari will host an exclusive screening event, giving guests an early opportunity to watch the documentary. Alongside the screening, attendees will enjoy a curated buffet of authentic Pinoy dishes, providing a full sensory experience that complements the film’s exploration of Filipino culture. “This ticketed event promises to transport you into the heart of the Philippines,” the restaurant shared, offering a unique opportunity to taste both the food and the story behind it.
