The Pasyal Aral Tour Is Making Students Fall In Love With PH History

The Intramuros Administration (IA) is bringing history to life for public school students with the relaunch of its Pasyal Aral Tour starting Tuesday, January 27. This initiative allows young learners to experience the rich heritage of the Walled City through guided tours of some of the Philippines’ most iconic historical sites.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The Pasyal Aral Program is a collaborative effort between the IA and the Department of Education (DepEd), with support from local government units across Metro Manila. Designed to make history engaging and interactive, the program gives students a chance to explore Philippine history in a way textbooks alone cannot offer. By visiting historical landmarks, learners gain a deeper appreciation for the country’s culture, heritage, and national heroes.

Guided Tours of Intramuros’ Treasures

Led by Department of Tourism (DOT)-accredited guides, the Pasyal Aral Tour takes students through key sites in Intramuros, including Fort Santiago, the historic fortress that once held national hero José Rizal; Baluarte de San Diego, one of the oldest defensive structures; and the Casa Manila Museum, which showcases colonial-era architecture and lifestyle. Students will also explore the Centro de Turismo Intramuros and the Museo de Intramuros, where they can view artifacts and exhibits that bring history to life.

The IA encourages teachers, students, and the public to follow its social media accounts for updates on tour schedules. With the Pasyal Aral Tour back in action, Intramuros continues to be more than just a historical site—it’s now an immersive classroom where students can fall in love with Philippine history, one landmark at a time.
