The agreement, signed on January 11, 2025, at the Brittany Hotel Villar City, marks the beginning of an exciting project: the design of the city’s first tournament-grade golf course. The signing ceremony was attended by key figures, including Villar Group Chairman Manny Villar, Curley-Wagner’s Brian D. Curley, and Jim E. Wagner, along with other representatives from both parties.
A World-Class Golf Course for All
Curley-Wagner Golf Design, an internationally renowned firm with experience in creating award-winning courses across 25 countries, will bring its expertise to this ambitious project. With notable designs like the 22-course complex at Mission Hills Golf Club in China, Curley-Wagner is known for crafting courses that balance challenge and enjoyment.
“We see a great opportunity here. The location, the people, the vision—it’s all aligned for a standout project,” said Brian Curley, President of Curley-Wagner. Jim Wagner, his design partner, emphasized that the new course will be both professional-grade and accessible for everyday golfers. “We aim to create a course that can challenge top players but also offer a fun and rewarding experience for casual golfers,” Wagner added. The design will feature wide fairways, strategic elements, and varied approaches to each hole, ensuring players of all skill levels enjoy the experience.

One of the most exciting aspects of this golf course is its location within the heart of Villar City, an emerging megalopolis that connects 13 cities and towns in Metro Manila and Cavite. Unlike traditional golf courses, which are often set in more remote areas, this course will be integrated into the urban fabric of the city.
