The travel duration from Ormoc to Palompon typically spans an hour and a half, contingent on your chosen route and mode of transportation.

Alternatively, visitors can fly to Tacloban and take a 4- to 5-hour van ride to Palompon. Upon arrival in Palompon, a visit to the Eco-Tourism Office will facilitate the arrangement of a boat to Kalanggaman.

Preserving Paradise: Higher Fees for Conservation
In a proactive move to preserve and enhance this sought-after tourist destination, Kalanggaman Island has implemented revised fees starting January 16, 2024. According to Municipal Ordinance No. 476-080523 (2023 Revenue Code of the Municipality of Palompon), visitors, especially foreign tourists, will now contribute more to sustain the island's beauty.
Foreign tourists are now required to pay ?1,000 for a day trip and ?1,500 for an overnight stay, up from ?500 and ?750, respectively. Day tour fees for non-Palompon residents have increased from ?100 to ?300, while overnight stay costs have risen from ?150 to ?450. However, local students enjoy discounted rates, and Palompon residents can visit the island free of charge.
To ensure the sustainable enjoyment of Kalanggaman Island, the Local Government Unit strictly enforces a maximum daily capacity of 500 tourists on the island.
