2GO, MinDA, DCCCII Push For Better Logistics Connectivity In Mindanao

In a bid to strengthen economic development in Mindanao, 2GO, one of the Philippines’ top transportation and logistics providers, recently joined forces with key industry leaders, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII). The collaboration aims to boost regional growth through enhanced logistics connectivity and closer cooperation among government and private stakeholders.

Strengthening Private-Public Partnerships for Mindanao’s Growth

The forum, titled “Advancing Mindanao’s Inclusive Growth through Stronger Partnerships and Sustainable Economic Progress,” gathered officials from local government, business chambers, and major industries to discuss regional priorities, logistical challenges, and strategies to improve supply chain integration across Mindanao. Attendees included representatives from agribusiness, manufacturing, export, and logistics sectors, all of whom stand to gain from a more streamlined and efficient transport network that supports business expansion in Davao and neighboring areas.

“Efficient logistics plays a critical role in connecting producers to markets and enabling industries to grow,” said Sharon Musngi-Ngo, business unit head, 2GO Sea Solutions. “By strengthening supply chain connectivity and working closely with partners in government and the business community, we aim to support enterprises in Davao and across Mindanao as they expand their reach across the Philippines and beyond.”

The discussions emphasized the critical role of private-public partnerships in improving infrastructure, widening market access, and fostering inclusive economic growth throughout the region. Recognizing Mindanao as a key driver of the country’s future economic potential, 2GO aims to contribute to the region’s logistics development, helping businesses connect with national and international markets.

Expanding Logistics Infrastructure Across Mindanao

With over a century of experience in maritime and logistics services, 2GO operates through four main business units in Mindanao: 2GO Sea Solutions, 2GO Forwarding, 2GO Special Containers and Project Logistics, and 2GO Travel. These units provide comprehensive support to regional industries through sea freight, passenger travel, cold chain logistics, bulk liquid transport via ISO tanks, cross-docking and warehousing, customs brokerage, and last-mile delivery services.

“This meeting marks the beginning of a more purposeful collaboration between the private and public sectors,” said MinDA Executive Director Undersecretary Janet Lopoz. “With 2GO’s expertise and reach, we can close logistical gaps that hinder trade, scale up local industries, and create an inclusive environment where Mindanao-based businesses can thrive not only in domestic markets but in international corridors as well.”

Dr. Mirasol Tiu, president of DCCCII, added, “Strong collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to sustaining the growth of businesses in Davao and across Mindanao. By strengthening logistics connectivity and improving access to markets, we can empower local enterprises—from exporters and manufacturers to small businesses—to expand their reach, compete more effectively, and contribute to the region’s inclusive economic progress.”

2GO currently maintains a strong presence across eight major Mindanao ports, including Butuan (via Nasipit), Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Zamboanga, Dipolog (via Dapitan), Ozamiz, Davao, and Siargao, improving access to some of the country’s fastest-growing business and tourism hubs. Through these connections and its direct Manila-Davao passenger vessel route, 2GO enhances inter-island cargo and passenger transport, helping local industries thrive while integrating Mindanao more fully into the nation’s logistics and economic networks.

By improving connectivity and facilitating the efficient flow of goods and services, this partnership supports the growth of Mindanao-based enterprises, which ultimately benefits local communities and strengthens the region’s contribution to the national economy.
